Ronda's CornerHow I Spent My Summer by Ronda. (I miss doing those essays every September)
My summer was spent getting some really cool things cataloged into Medianet before all the students returned to the area elementary schools. We have several new book sets that are geared toward the Primary and early intermediate school levels. They are published by Sylvan Dell and come with 5 copies of the title and a cute plush animal. These are award winning picture books by different authors and illustrators plus a reading and language learning program that integrates Science, Math, and Geography with the books. Just type in Sylvan in the search box on the Medianet page. Check out the "Additional Resources" section of our webpage www.casls2.org.

I was also busy working with OCLC to get our holdings catalog updated on the OCLC FirstSearch page. This will increase the number of titles libraries from outside our districts request to borrow from our School Library System. It will also decrease the number of requests I get from outside our SLS for titles that your library weeded. Our holdings hadn't been updated since we first started using OCLC years ago. As of this morning, our files from the Union Catalog are at OCLC and the paperwork is all in place. My hope is that by the end of next week we will be all up to date.

The best part of my summer was when September brought everyone back together and the emails started coming in from everyone. I missed you all.
